PROFILE

Hi. I have an MA in Educational Psychology and work as a trainer/technical writer. I was writing adult classes on subjects like conflict resolution (how to help people when they disagree). I was thinking about the school shootings that happened and anger. In my own life, I have seen that anger is often a sign that something is very wrong. Sometimes anger is a good thing because it causes people to take action and make positive changes in their lives. I think a lot of adults do not really talk to children about anger because they themselves do not always know how to cope with it in a positive manner.

That's how my children's story, I Am So Angry I Could Scream was born! My personal experiences and knowledge all came together to form a story that teaches how to sit down and problem solve angry feelings. It's also a funny story about Penny and the very, very bad day that she has. Have you ever had a really bad day?

We all feel angry at some time in our lives; it's what you do with the anger that is the key. Can you think of important people in our history who felt anger and did something positive with it? I can - Martin Luther King Jr. felt angry about civil rights and inspired others to peacefully make changes in our society. Rachel Carson was angry about pesticides being used and wrote a famous book that helped to inspire changes: Silent Spring. I hope the next time you feel angry, you will take a deep breath and try to figure out why you are angry and what positive action you can take.

I have since written many other stories that I hope to get published.
